Yesterday I was having a conversation with my new colleage, Simon Morrison. Simon has written for various publications from the Guardian to Loaded, and edited the Ministry of Sound’s Ibiza magazine. It’s great to have him on our team at Chester in preparation for the upcoming music journalism undergraduate programme. At the moment he is helping to organize ‘Louder Than Words,’ a festival to be held in about a month’s time at the Palace Hotel in Manchester, featuring speakers and panelists such as Barney Hoskins, Jah Wobble, Clinton Heylin, Wilko Johnson and John Robb. It looks to be shaping up as an interesting event that will explore the relationship between writing and popular music. Click here for more details of the day.
